Participant Experiences:

“Each lesson refreshed a new organization and the series built up a pattern of release. I think I am more aware of existing habits as an ongoing process. I am more and more trying to find the ease in the situation..this is quite difficult for someone with a sporty type background and lifestyle” -anonymous

“For the past 2 weeks, WOW, I feel a huge difference, a significant release and unwinding. I am more than pleasantly surprised. What's been most supportive to this change? Your Feldenkrais ATM lessons, your "delivery method" meaning the ease and calm in your voice, your patience, your reminders to do less, be comfortable, rest. Being new to Feldenkrais, I AM DISCOVERING a lot of new options that I have not yet been able to fully integrate but practice when gardening, lifting heavy objects, even vacuuming! Also, much of the learning and integration from this series happens while sleeping.” -Bonnie Galayda, Actress, Singer

“I began to have this relationship with my neck and shoulders, understanding that nausea, dizziness was a way these muscles and my body in general were telling me that I am tired and pushing too hard. I love that the nausea went away. I hardly ever get dizzy any more. I was supported to slow down and really listen to the limits of my body. I felt supported to appreciate the link between posture of neck and shoulders and breadth and width of my vision/horizon, and thus of my attitude toward life. I experienced my first lived experience of what you guys mean when you say "the movement should be pleasurable." This series was perfect for me and exceeded my expectations.” -Semerit, retired MD, now playing at Artist, Embodied Coach, Workshop Facilitator, Poet

“A certain abdominal tension was relieved/lessened with the lesson imagining the ball falling from above. My neck and jaw feel more relaxed. I am more aware of orientating externally and as tensions develop allowing the awareness which prompts a loosening of tensions.” -Trish

“I really enjoy the mini lessons... easy go to lessons, I felt a difficult area of my neck unlocked during one of the lessons and I feel it has lasted. I enjoyed the speakers you had on giving fullness to the entire series.” -Heidi McGovern, Feldenkrais Practitioner

“It is a treat to get to roll around on the floor, guided by a good teacher. I have been focusing for a while on my shoulder and neck tension, which is especially prominent in these months of increased computer use for remote teaching. These lessons were quite helpful. New habits seem mostly related to poor posture related to increased screen time.” -Linda C. Psychotherapist

“I can feel my head resting on the top of the spine (I don't need to "hold" the head with muscle tension). More flexibility in my chest and upper back. I can feel movements in the sternum. Stable and grounded pelvis. I move easier. Yes! My posture has changed, I move easier, feel grounded and upright, more flexible in my body and mind, and feel connection with the environment.” -Christina Fagrell

“What has changed is how I perceive my body. The guidance of noticing what else might be moving along with a primary movement showed me that our parts move together, even if it's a tiny shift.  It really struck me how segmented my unconscious notions of bodily movement were. I am practicing allowing support to come from other areas of the body. The sense of my body being connected to itself” -Sheryl Hansen

“Your manner was perfect for us to learn. Head is easier to turn. Shoulders are down. Glad to be encouraged to pay attention. Being aware takes effort but very rewarding. I am slowing down more often. Remembering to be aware. Practicing doing less.” -Janet Robyns

“I really enjoy your energetic and enthusiastic teaching style. I loved having lessons on organic intelligence and the vagal nerve integrated. Your emphasis on freedom to choose your actions and rests makes the curious explorations more interesting. I feel increased awareness of my visual field during daily activity. When my vision is relaxed and open my breath is free and natural alignment supported. Your teaching and learning style expands boundaries. This series adds additional layers to awareness of posture and action in daily life.” -Ada

I feel lighter & more hopeful after this. I’m intention-ing more learning about habitual patterns that I embody around doing too much. I often get very bone tired & am looking toward reducing this feeling even more after 10 years of diligently studying Feldenkrais/somatics. Sometimes I feel I’ve got a good handle on it & others I do not. Waves of habitual responses come & go, I observe, I cry, I laugh, all in all I learn to love myself & the experiences that have brought me to this moment in time. Thank you dear one, there is more levity, light, & love in my being-ness.” -Lisa Mace, Movement Educator/Therapeutic Artist

“After doing just one session of Tiffany's series on anxiety, I experienced a profound difference in how I am. I have so much more choice, space, flexibility in how I feel and how I think. I am utterly amazed by how simple AND effective it was. And... I am still wrapping my head around how immediate the shift was, despite my nervous system having a lifetime of habit. The lived experience of knowing in my body how anxiety stays with me, now many situations play out very differently than they would have previously.”--Borislav, IT Professional

-Shami Orkibi, Art Teacher & Dancer

“At the end of my first class, I felt taller and calmer, and as I continued taking classes for the next few months I saw great improvements. My spine was straighter, I didn't wake up with so many aches in my back and hips, I was way less clumsy."
-Beth B., Artist

"Feldenkrais was the perfect pathway towards healing my chronic back pain." -Mary

Bodyworkers/ Healers

"After my first class, my partner noticed a shift in my appearance; he became curious about how something I described as subtle, could work so dramatically..." -Naomi U.

"How fortunate am I to have found Feldenkrais practitioner Tiffany Sankary. Her sensitive, intelligent hands, her body wisdom, and careful lucid teaching have helped me learn about, understand, change, and liberate my mind and body from more pain and unwanted limitations in the past year more than anything I’ve done in the past 54 altogether. " -Clair Wings

"I’m inspired by the work you do, on all fronts, and the not perfect, growing approach you take. A great model for all of us." -Judith Morse, retired massage therapist

Dancers

"I enjoyed the nature of the classes very much. They helped me to become a better observer of my own body and mind. I am more aware of how my body has moved unconsciously and how this can change -- It is a very introspective process and one of the best ways to develop body intelligence."
- Mr. Kim, Dancer

"I recommend Tiffany's class to anyone interested in movement, dance or overall health." - Mark Smith, Sr. Audio Engineer, STC Productions

“I felt so much more comfortable in my body, so lightweight and floaty, particularly in my neck. Simply moving around space seemed easier, like I was exerting less effort than I normally do.” -Emily Murcko, Student, Lesley University, Counseling

Mothers

"During the lesson you taught yesterday I noticed that all of a sudden my mood changed... I felt so calm and embodied. ‘I was at home’."
-Tanja Seifarth

“Transformation is the word that best describes my experience during a Feldenkrais lesson with Tiffany. (The lessons have) helped me understand that certain beliefs and habits and perspectives are no longer working for me and that change is possible. I don't have to do things the same way I've always done them and I don't have to be the same person I've always been. This has made a huge difference in my approach to my body, my work and my relationships, with myself and with others.” -Jennifer Recklet Tassi, Community Organizer

Musicians

"I love your voice, pacing, selective choice of guidance, clarity... really of an engaging quality/ high in my experience." - Constance DeFotis, retired professor, conductor and singer

"My 'mask of tension' was gone and I looked like a different person.  I was actually "present" in my face! I felt different mentally and emotionally, too..." -Christine B., Musician & computer engineer

“Sitar maestros can pluck the strings extremely fast and I couldn't do anything near that speed until I started involving my whole hand, arm, shoulder, etc. Thank you!” - Farhan Choudhary

“Experiencing Feldenkrais with Tiffany I was struck by how much of a mind / body process it really was. Tiffany has a special way of perpetuating that connection… a way that really urges you to adhere to that dynamic of imagining, feeling and thinking.”
-Éilís Crean, Musician

Psychologists

"Feldenkrais has been an eye-opener for me-- rather than stretching and strengthening, building awareness has turned out to be the most helpful approach I've tried yet in terms of dealing with injury. Recognizing how many choices we have and how much freedom we have in both moving and thinking, instead of focusing on perceived limitations, has certainly made me feel better! And I've also found myself responding differently in conversations with people--slowing down and listening more... Feldenkrais has opened up things for me I didn't know were closed..."
–Rachel Wiseman, Psy.D.

Yoga Teachers & Physical Therapists

"Your guidance and patience have helped myself and many others achieve more freedom of movement in functioning."

–Zan Barry, health coach/ yoga instructor
